Program Goals:
1. Engage students in exploring the varieties of women's
experiences and expression, past and present.
2. Engage students in investigating how gender is constructed in a range of
societies and social institutions.
3. Engage students in examining the dominant values, methodology, and
knowledge base within given fields of discourse in light of these perspectives
of under-represented groups, including women.
4. Engage students in contributing both in and out of the classroom to
feminist knowledge through strategies such as field research, cooperative
learning, and the integration of personal experience into larger fields of
experience, history, and scholarship.
