Women's Studies Goals & Objectives

Program Goals:

1. Engage students in exploring the varieties of women's experiences and expression, past and present.

2. Engage students in investigating how gender is constructed in a range of societies and social institutions.

3. Engage students in examining the dominant values, methodology, and knowledge base within given fields of discourse in light of these perspectives of under-represented groups, including women.

4. Engage students in contributing both in and out of the classroom to feminist knowledge through strategies such as field research, cooperative learning, and the integration of personal experience into larger fields of experience, history, and scholarship.
